As a young man growing up in Ireland, while I always loved the Cannabis Sativa L. plant, I never believed that there were any other redeeming qualities to the plant other than getting high. As we all know, “reefer madness' was (and still kind of is) the baseline of thought in the Irish narrative on cannabis. It took a move across the ocean and a decade working in the American cannabis sector to challenge and evolve my limited view. When I first moved to the US, I started as a medical marijuana caregiver on the East Coast, where I met patients who opened my eyes to the plant's potential as they chose cannabis over harsh pharmaceuticals. It was deeply moving to see and be part of their journey, and it was here where my journey into the heart of this industry truly began.
The cannabis business, like any other, has its share of shortcuts. But for me, the commitment to doing it right from the start was non-negotiable. It's easy to spot the difference between those dedicated to quality and those chasing quick profits. As a caregiver, we pushed for comprehensive testing long before it was the norm, and that ethos has stayed with us. We didn't just want to meet standards; we aimed to set them. That led us to manufacturing our own products - gummies, vape cartridges, and more - ensuring quality by controlling every step.
Moving to the West Coast (the epicenter of all things Cannabis), my journey took a deeper dive into the world of hemp - a variety of the Cannabis Sativa L plant that is even more versatile in terms of the available cannabinoids and effects. There, I immersed myself in plant extraction and conversions, understanding every aspect of the process. Now, with a wealth of experience and a keen sense of what true quality means, I'm back in Ireland.
Here at home, I see the same need for education and access to high-quality, transparent hemp products that I saw in the U.S in the beginning. That's why our mission is about more than just selling products —it's a commitment to elevate the local industry to global standards.
